The Trinidad Rattan barstool and bar table collection is skillfully handcrafted of quality rattan pole combined with intricately woven rush to create a look of unique elegance. It does not require cushions.

Rush was named from the "Bull Rush Cattail leaves". These leaves grow around river beads. In the past these leaves were gathered and then worked together by twisting 2 or more leaves together and then continually weaving them over and through a frame until four triangle meeting at the center were formed.

Since, the late 1800's and early 1900's a man made product has replaced this original Rush material. This new material is made of heavy pre-twisted craft paper. It is much easier to work with and is considered superior to the original rush material.
